There isn’t all too much we can say about Sports Day, who are, for now, keeping themselves hidden behind the computer screen and releasing music via record label Nice Guys. Instead of pondering over these unknown answers, let’s instead turn to the track at hand. ‘Shook’ is a woozy, beach-rock and dream-pop kind of number bathing the listener in a warm glow of lo-fi vocals, grooving bass lines, and reverberated guitar struts. There’s something incredibly charming about the less-is-more approach of Sports Day. They sound very much like a halfway house between London’s Mom Tudie and Texas/London band Khruangbin.
